Special Olympics Festival
The Special Olympics Festival (SOF) has evolved into one of St. John's premiere social events. From its origins as a luncheon and auction championed by the St. John's Maple Leafs it has now blazed new trails to become a unique fundraising function that has established an excellent reputation for being a quality event.

In 2008 the Special Olympics Festival moved to Club One and provided attendees with a buttoned down approach to the traditional auction and fundraiser. Special Olympics realized that it did not want to compete with the established formal auctions and dinners that were well entrenched in the city. So instead of trying to develop a similar event Special Olympics decided to plan an event that would focus on the attendees and corporate supporters having a fun night out while making a contribution to the community. The change of venue and feel of the event was a huge hit that received positive feedback from those in attendance for its fresh and casual approach to raising funds for charity. The SOF continues to grow and we are already getting enquiries about 2010's event.

Law Enforcement Torch Run
For over 25 years, the international law enforcement community has been a proud and committed supporter of Special Olympics. Year-round, the Torch Run initiative conducts fundraisers and awareness vehicles in support of the movement. In 2008 alone, 85,000 law enforcement officers carried the Flame of Hope across 35 nations, raising $34 million for local Programs in every corner of the world.

Now in its 20th year in Newfoundland & Labrador law enforcement is responsible for making a tremendous impact on Special Olympics Newfoundland & Labrador. Over 400 officers, civilian employees, their families & friends raise money in their local communities. These volunteers of the Torch Run are honoured to carry the torch in their local community through fulfilling the mission of the LETR.

Agencies raise funds in a variety of ways, but the majority sell our LETR shirts and collect pledges.

North Atlantic Charity Golf Event
The North Atlantic Petroleum Charity Golf Event is one of the premiere golf events in the province raising in excess of $30,000 annually for Special Olympics. At a time when the number golf event fundraising events being offered is drastically increasing the NAP Golf Event continues to stand out. The commitment of the NAP staff as well as the involvement of the Special Olympics athletes in the event makes it a memorable day on the course that is a staple on many corporate calendars.
